What do I wear?

Dressing in layers is a smart choice for any outdoor activity. The weather in town can be very different from what you experience at the fishing grounds. On the water there is often more wind and the weather can change quickly. To stay comfortable it is important to wear clothing that you can easily add or remove. Additionally rain gear is provided for all guests ensuring that everyone stays dry and enjoys their time outdoors.

How many fish can I catch?

Limits of Salmon and other fish change yearly. It is best to reach out to your guide to enquire after any changes to limits.

Do I need to make a reservation?

Charter reservations are highly recommended, especially during the high salmon and halibut fishing season of May, June, July, August and September. Reservations are a good idea for booking any charter throughout the year. It gives us ample time to be ready and prepared for your arrival, assuring that your salmon or halibut fishing trip is a successful and positive one. Many of our regular fishing clients book their dates 1 year to 6 months in advance to make sure they get their prime salmon and/or halibut fishing dates.

How long will we be out on the water?

A typical day fishing will start anywhere from 5:00 to 8:00 A.M. depending on the weather, time of year and the targeted species. Once all guests are on board, your captain will be sure to brief everybody on the locations of all life jackets and important safety equipment. Upon request we can bait and set crab traps on the way out of the harbor to be hauled at the end of the fishing day. We will return to Prince Rupert approximately 8 hours after departure. This is all dependent on different variables.

Is there a chance to see any other wildlife?

There is a very good chance of seeing other wildlife while fishing with us. You could see many species of birds, as they watch for fish jumping and any old bait that your guide may throw over. There is also a chance to see other wildlife such as whales, sea lions, seals and porpoises.
